Ian Massenburg has built a career marked by bold moves, adaptability, and a keen eye for opportunity. He recently joined forces with Sam McPherson, a friend and colleague, on his latest venture, Listed Pro.io, as Co-Founder and COO. Listed Pro is an innovative real estate organization and collaboration platform designed to simplify how agents manage their transactions, and it’s set to reshape the industry. Ian will be leaning on his wealth of experience to grow Listed’s family of agents – starting by partnering with local top producing agents Lisa Fetrow and Randy Hunziker. The Listed team is experienced, talented, and determined to bring something new and powerful to the real estate industry.
From Energy to Entrepreneurship
Massenburg’s career began in Gainesville in 1996 attending University of Florida. After graduating in 2001 with a degree in English, he started at Infinite Energy, a local provider of natural gas and electricity, where he spent 14 years assisting with managing operations and overseeing the company’s 90-seat call center.
It was at Infinite Energy that Massenburg first embraced the concept of “big, hairy, audacious goals” (BHAGs), a term coined by Infinite Energy’s founder Rich Blaser. This idea of setting visionary, ambitious objectives became a cornerstone of Massenburg’s approach to business.
After his tenure at Infinite Energy, Massenburg joined SharpSpring, a marketing automation platform, where he deepened his expertise in sales and business development. These experiences laid the groundwork for his transition into entrepreneurship.
Building a Foundation with The Selling Factory
Massenburg joined forces with Brad Gamble and Adam Grossman as partners in The Selling Factory, a Gainesville-based company connecting university students with businesses in need of sales and operational support. Over 7.5 years, Massenburg helped grow the company into a dynamic venture that empowered countless students and businesses to thrive.
However, the COVID-19 pandemic brought unexpected challenges, including rising employment costs and shifts in the business landscape. Ever adaptable, Massenburg saw this as an opportunity to pivot and explore new ventures.
The Birth of Listed Pro
After leaving SharpSpring, Ian and Sam kept in touch. Over the years, Sam’s entrepreneurial spirit prompted him to launch a few companies that utilized The Selling Factory’s team of students, keeping the two connected.
Sam shared his new venture, Listed Pro, with Ian in the Spring and a new partnership was formed. They knew that with Sam’s product experience and Ian’s sales and operations acumen, the two would be a force to be reckoned with. They began to build a rockstar team and got to work building a completely reimagined tool for licensed real estate agents. The team also includes both Lisa Fetrow and Randy Hunziker, top producers in Gainesville’s real estate market, as well realtor Andre Berry in Orlando.
By gathering direct feedback from agents, the team designed Listed Pro as a centralized, user-friendly tool to manage tasks, collaborate with clients, and streamline operations. Its features include task management, calendar integration, and document storage—everything an agent needs to provide a consistent, high-quality client experience.
A Team-Centric Philosophy
One of the key drivers of Listed Pro’s early success is their emphasis on teamwork and self-awareness. “Very few people make it on their own,” Ian says. “Recognizing personal weaknesses and surrounding yourself with the right people is essential.”
This team-centric approach has been instrumental in the platform’s development, ensuring it not only meets agent needs but also sets a new standard for how real estate professionals operate.
A Vision for the Future
With Listed Pro officially launching its paid version this week, the Listed Pro team has set a BHAG to acquire 1,000 paying customers by the end of 2025. While the platform currently focuses on residential real estate, there’s potential for expansion into commercial real estate as well.
“This platform simplifies operations, enhances efficiency, and delivers a consistent product to client sellers and buyers,” Massenburg explains. “I encourage agents to create a free account and explore what Listed Pro can do for their business.”
A Gainesville Success Story in the Making
Listed Pro is more than a tool for real estate agents—it’s a testament to the innovative spirit that defines Gainesville’s entrepreneurial community. Massenburg’s journey from managing call centers to launching a cutting-edge platform is a reminder of the power of adaptability, teamwork, and bold vision.
As Listed Pro gains traction, it could become Gainesville’s next big success story, helping to solidify the city’s reputation as a hub for innovation and creativity. For more information about ListedPro, visit their website.
